Emmanuel Allanah has over 30 years of experience in Development Management and Forward Planning across various local planning authorities and private sector practices in the UK. His planning and land use management career began with the Lagos State Judiciary Land Registry in Lagos State, Nigeria, in the early 1970s as an Assistant Registrar of Titles before embarking on further education studies in the UK. Emmanuel is a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Director of EA Planning Services Limited (UK), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Emmanuel Allanah Associates Ltd (Nigeria). From 1990 to 1997, he served the Royal Town Planning Institute in several capacities, including the Planning and Policy Committee, Membership Panel, Race Relations Panel, Consultancy Panel, and as an RTPI representative on the Town and Country Planning Association Management Board.
In 1994, Emmanuel served as the lead planning consultant through Kush Housing Association in the UK, leading a multidisciplinary team of consultants to provide professional land use and master planning advice to the Government of South Africa’s Town Planning and Urban Development Department on strategies for planning affordable housing and supporting infrastructure for towns and cities. Emmanuel has worked on numerous master plans, urban regeneration projects, local plan policy development, pre-application advice, and assessments of minor and major complex planning applications, including mixed-use developments, residential, industrial, and commercial projects, as well as environmental impact assessments and planning appeals through written representation, hearings, and local inquiries.
